Sub-Regional Study

NFRMPO - Eaton - Fort Collins - Greeley - Larimer County - Loveland - Severance - Timnath - Weld County - Windsor - Colorado Department of Transportation Region 4

The North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO) is facilitating a multi-jurisdictional study of growing volumes of traffic, particularly truck traffic, on regionally significant corridors in the northeastern portion of the North Front Range Transportation Planning Region. The “sub-regional” study area is experiencing steady commercial and industrial development. Transportation issues need to be addressed in the following order:

1. Address the current and forecasted levels of service for traffic flow in general and for truck traffic in particular, identifying what transportation improvements and routing of traffic might be the most effective and acceptable.

2. Identify how improvements to the transportation system will be prioritized, how these will be funded, and in what time frames.

3. Incorporate continuing land use changes and associated growth, identifying how land use planning and intergovernmental coordination may be the most helpful in addressing transportation problems within the study area.
