VanGo Wins Motor Vehicle Safety Award

CIRSA Awards Vanpool Program for Lowest Accident Frequency

Fort Collins, Colorado—The North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization is pleased to announce their VanGoTM Vanpool Services program has won the Motor Vehicle Safety Award given by CIRSA (Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency). VanGo received the award at the 2010 CIRSA Safety Committee meeting in Vail on June 23rd, 2010.

The Motor Vehicle Safety Award is given to the fleet having the lowest motor accident frequency rates in their mileage category in 2009. The Motor Vehicle Accident Frequency Rate is computed by multiplying the number of vehicle claims times 1,000,000 then dividing by the total vehicle miles driven for the year.

In 2009, the VanGo program saved over 12 million vehicle miles traveled (VMT) through ridesharing.
