Colorado Air Quality Control Commission Scheduled to Meet March 18 at Island Grove Regional Park in Greeley.

WHAT:           The regular monthly meeting of the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission

WHEN:           Thursday, March 18, at 9 a.m.

WHERE:        Island Grove Regional Park

                        4H Building

                        501 North 14th Avenue

                        Greeley, CO  80631

WHY:              The Colorado Air Quality Control Commission develops air pollution control regulations to ensure compliance with the state and federal clean air acts and it conducts hearings involving violations of the state’s air pollution laws. The agenda for this regular monthly meeting will include a rulemaking hearing to consider revisions to Regulation Number 11 regarding the implementation of the vehicle emissions inspection program in Larimer and Weld Counties.

Specifically, the Commission will consider a proposal to expand the vehicle emission inspection program into Larimer and Weld Counties consistent with the statutory boundaries established in 2009 Senate Bill 003, including, but not limited to, the following municipalities and surrounding areas: Severance, Eaton, Greeley, Garden City, LaSalle, Evans, Milliken, Johnstown, Windsor, Wellington, Fort Collins, Loveland, Estes Park, Berthoud, Mead, Firestone, Fredrick, Fort Lupton, Dacono, Erie and Lochbuie.  In addition the proposal would revise the implementation date of the program in Larimer and Weld Counties such that it meets the requirements of the statute and provides an appropriate amount of time to complete the work necessary to implement the program. The proposal would also establish interim tailpipe emission limitations for the area and testing equipment to be updates with new technical specifications.
