NFRMPO Elects Chair and Vice Chair
New Officers for 2010
Fort Collins, Colorado—The NFRMPO Council, comprised of fifteen member governments in the North Front Range, has elected a new Chair and Vice Chair for 2010. The Chair is Julie Cozad, Milliken Town Trustee, and Ben Manvel, City of Fort Collins Council member is Vice Chair.
Julie Cozad has lived in the Northern Colorado Region for over 30 years. She has been involved in many civic organizations and was the past President of Weld Women’s Sertoma Club. She is a current Board member of Upstate economic Development and is on the Governing Board of St. Anthony North Hospital. She has been on the Council of the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization since 2006 and was appointed to the State of Colorado’s State Strategic Transit Task Force in March, 2008.
She currently works for Tetra Tech as the Land Planning Manager as a professional planner, wife, mother of three and grandmother, Ms. Cozad is committed to community involvement on boards and commissions and is dedicated to making Northern Colorado a great place to live. She believes smaller communities should have a voice and focuses on accomplishing the area’s goals by working together to solve the region’s problems in a regional way.
“The NFRMPO work for this year will include updating the organizations Strategic Action Plan, Transportation Demand Management Plan, Regional Transit Plan, as well as finding ways to work together to solve our regional challenges” stated Ms. Cozad.
Ben Manvel is Vice Chair of the NFRMPO Council. A retired CSU mathematics professor, Ben was first elected to the Fort Collins City Council in 2005. A volunteer for United Way, the Forest Service, and his church, he represents the NFRMPO Council on the governor’s Regional Air Quality Council.
Ben and his wife Anne have three children and five grandchildren (three girls and two boys). Ben's transport modes of choice are biking and walking, and he especially enjoys his easy access to all the amenities of Old Town Fort Collins.
“With transportation funding continuing to decrease, the MPO is becoming more important as a venue for building regional connections. I am happy to be a part of that cooperative process.”

The North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO) is an association of 15 local governments working together to improve regional transportation and air quality. The NFRMPO provides short and long-range planning while prioritizing projects in those plans for state and federal funding. The NFRMPO develops cooperative relationships and financial partnerships among our member governments, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHA), the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and the private sector.
