Greeley-Loveland Bus Had 2459 Riders in August

Fort Collins, Colorado—The North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO) is pleased to release ridership data for the 34-Xpress bus service running between Greeley and Loveland.  For the month of August, the route had 2459 riders.  The bus was free to the public during the month to stimulate ridership. Fares will be collected starting in September.

  • 350 extended local service zone (Promenade or Promontory)
  • 1,280 regional riders (past extended local service zone)
  • 44 lift assists (wheelchairs)
  • 70 bikes

The "34-Xpress" is commuter-oriented bus route that runs on the hour between Greeley and Loveland in the US 34 Corridor.  6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.  9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays.  There is no Sunday service.

The intent of this pilot project is to provide transit access to employment centers in the US 34 Corridor. The stop locations are sited to enable those using the local transit systems in Loveland and Greeley (COLT and GET, respectively) to transfer onto the route and get on the way to their destination.

This 34-Xpress bus is funded through a combination of local, State, and Federal resources to demonstrate the positive potential of regional collaboration.  The NFRMPO is the federally designated long range transportation and air quality planning organization for 15 member governments in Northern Colorado.  The City of Greeley, through its transit system - Greeley-Evans Transit (GET) - has been chosen as the agency that will operate the route through a contractual arrangement with the NFRMPO.
