VanGo Wins Motor Vehicle Safety Award

CIRSA Awards Vanpool Program for Lowest Accident Frequency

Fort Collins, Colorado—The North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization is pleased to announce their VanGoTM Vanpool Services program has won the Motor Vehicle Safety Award given by. CIRSA (Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency). VanGo received the award at the 2008 CIRSA Safety Committee meeting in Steamboat on June 18th.

The Motor Vehicle Safety Award is given to the fleet having the lowest motor accident frequency rates in their mileage category in 2007. The Motor Vehicle Accident Frequency Rate is computed by multiplying the number of vehicle claims times 1,000,000 then dividing by the total vehicle miles driven for the year.
In 2007, VanGo vans (80 at the end of 2007) traveled 380,337 miles transporting commuters to work. By sharing the van, their vanpoolers accrued 1,554,845 miles assuming they had driven their own vehicle.
